JSON Viewer & Formatter is built to be private by design. It runs entirely on your device and is intended to handle your data locally, in your browser, only.
Nothing. The extension does not collect, store on any server, transmit, share, or sell any personal information or the contents of the JSON you view. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
All parsing, formatting, searching, and rendering happens locally in your browser. The JSON you open is never sent anywhere by this extension. The extension makes no network requests of its own. (If you choose the optional “fetch from a URL” feature, your browser requests that URL directly, exactly as if you had typed it into the address bar; the extension does not see or route that traffic through any third party.)
activeTab — lets the extension read the current tab's text, only at the moment
you click the toolbar icon, so it can format the JSON shown there.scripting — used after that click to read the page's text for formatting.storage — stores your preferences and briefly passes a page's JSON to the
viewer tab, locally on your device.None. No data is shared with or sold to any third party.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
